How 2 Make A Movie Store

We're going to start selling a carefully selected list of books about movie making, classic screenplays and other stuff that's perfect for movie making on a low budget. The books that will be on the list are either very important, helpful, essential reading or just simply a load of fun. Here's the first one that anyone interested in movie making should read.

On Film-Making - An Introduction to the craft of the Director

Alexander Mackendrick - Edited by Paul Cronin

Alexander Mackendrick directed Ealing Studio's classics such as 'The Man in the White Suit', 'Whiskey Galore' and 'The Ladykillers' before moving to the US and directing 'The Sweet Smell of Success'.

This book is a collection of his teachings on making movies at the revered California Institute of the Arts.

If that's not enough recommendation for any aspiring film maker, it also has an introduction by Martin Scorsese.
