Make A Movie

Making movies is time consuming and complex. It requires creativity, project management, people skills and more. But mostly it's fantastic fun.

You've got your screenplay so now it's time to look at the following:

  • Pre-production which covers developing your script so it's no longer a document but an entire plan for your whole shoot and editing afterwards
  • Filming itself and how you're going to light and record sound for each shot based on where the actors are going to be and where you'll have the camera
  • Editing the movie and how you're going to record all your takes on set so that the process  of editing is much easier and quicker

Don't worry, this isn't going to drill loads of instructions into you. This is a guideline to follow. You'll still make loads of mistakes but by following the guidelines you'll have more time and can go back and re-shoot something that wasn't done properly first time.

Just remember that if you don't have it recorded on video or film, it can't go into your movie. So when you get on set, you want to be as prepared as possible.

So get out there and make a movie!
